According to reliable government sources, the tech giant aims to scale up its iPhone production to a staggering $40 billion within the next 4-5 years, marking a significant expansion of its manufacturing capabilities in India. The official, who disclosed this information on the condition of anonymity, stated, “Apple has laid out plans to ramp up production in India, targeting over $40 billion in the next 4-5 years. Notably, the company has already crossed the $7 billion production mark in the last fiscal year.” Despite numerous attempts to seek a response from Apple, an email query to the company remained unanswered at the time of this report. Apple’s commitment to manufacturing in India extends beyond iPhones, with plans to commence the production of Airpods in the country set to begin next year.

Exclusion of Apple iPads and MacBooks

However, Apple’s focus currently does not include the production of iPads or laptops within India. The official clarified, stating, “Apple does not presently intend to participate in the IT hardware PLI (Production-Linked Incentive) scheme. While they may consider it in the future, their immediate objective is to scale up their existing production capabilities.
