Ather, a leading player in the Indian electric scooter market, has unveiled its latest lineup, featuring the brand-new Ather 450S model along with revised versions of the popular Ather 450X. The announcement comes as a significant step towards promoting electric mobility in the country. The new scooters cater to a diverse range of consumers, combining style, performance, and accessibility.
Ather’s Competitive Pricing:
The Ather 450S is positioned as a more accessible option, competing with the likes of Ola S1 Air, offering a competitive price point while maintaining impressive features. The price range for the new scooters starts from INR 1.30 lakh, going up to INR 1.68 lakh.
Ather 450S Highlights:
The Ather 450S boasts a 2.9 kWh battery capacity, providing a commendable IDC range of 115km. Its acceleration from 0 to 40 km/h takes a mere 3.9 seconds, with a top speed reaching 90 km/h. This scooter incorporates several enhancements, including the DeepView Display, new switchgear, FallSafe feature, Emergency Stop Signal (ESS), and coasting regen technology, promising to extend the range by up to 7%. Moreover, Ather Grid fast chargers facilitate rapid charging at a rate of up to 1.5 km/min.
Pro Pack Option:
The Ather 450S offers a Pro pack, providing access to additional features such as Ride Assist, Ather battery protection, AtherStack updates, and Ather Connect, enhancing the overall user experience.
Updates to Ather 450X:
The updated Ather 450X model features all the improvements seen in the 450S, with the added option of choosing between 115 km and 145 km range variants. Users can also opt for the Pro pack, similar to the 450X models.
Enhanced Features:
Both models feature a 7-inch DeepView Display with auto-brightness and better sunlight legibility. On-board navigation offers numerous directional possibilities, providing convenience to riders. Additionally, advanced features such as FallSafe technology, Emergency Stop Signal, Theft and Tow alerts, and Coasting Regen contribute to the overall safety and functionality of the scooters.
Delivery Schedule:
Ather plans to roll out the Ather 450X (2.9 kWh) by the third week of August. The Ather 450S is expected to commence deliveries by the last week of August. Furthermore, a version of the Ather 450X with a 3.7 kWh battery will be launched in October.

The Ather 450S comes in a variety of attractive colors, including Cosmic Black, Still White, Salt Green, and Space Grey, with prices starting at INR 1,29,999 (ex-showroom, Delhi, including Fame II subsidy). The Ather 450X 2.9 kWh version is available starting from INR 1,37,950 (ex-showroom, Delhi, including Fame II subsidy), while the 3.7 kWh battery variant, offering added features, will be available from October, starting at INR 1,44,871 (ex-showroom, Delhi, including Fame II subsidy). The pricing mentioned excludes the Pro pack, which offers valuable additional features and warranties.
