Mahindra XUV 700 New Features leak – Captain seats Auto-Dimming IRVM

Mahindra XUV 700 is one of the most anticipated SUVs in the Indian market, thanks to its impressive design, performance, and technology. The SUV was launched in August 2023, with a starting price of Rs 11.99 lakh (ex-showroom). However, the bookings were soon closed due to high demand and supply constraints.

Now, according to a leaked document, Mahindra seems to be readying a new set of updates for XUV700, which could make it even more attractive and competitive. The document reveals some of the new features that could be introduced with XUV 700 in the near future.

Mahindra XUV 700 added Captain Seats & Auto Dimming IRVM:

One of the new features that could be added to XUV 700 is the option of captain seats in the middle row. Currently, XUV 700 is offered in 5-seat and 7-seat configurations, with a bench seat in the second row. However, some customers may prefer a 6-seat option, with more comfort and space for the middle row passengers.

The document shows that XUV 700 could get new variants with captain seats in the middle row, with a 60:40 split format and foldable armrests. The captain seats will also have a recline and forward/backward slide function, for better adjustability. This feature will make XUV 700 more appealing to those who use chauffeur-driven cars or travel long distances with family or friends.

Another new feature that could be introduced with XUV 700 is an auto-dimming inside rearview mirror (IRVM). This feature is already available with some of its rivals, such as Tata Harrier and Tata Safari. An auto-dimming IRVM automatically reduces the glare from the headlights of the vehicles behind, enhancing the safety and comfort of the driver at night.

The document shows that the IRVM onboard XUV 700 will have an on/off switch to engage or disengage the automatic dimming function. This feature will be a welcome addition to XUV 700, which already boasts of many advanced safety features, such as 7 airbags, electronic stability program, adaptive cruise control, high beam assist, and traffic sign recognition.

Ventilated Seats will Add this New Facelift XUV 700:

A third new feature that could be offered with XUV 700 is ventilated seats. This feature is also available with some of its competitors, such as MG Hector and Hyundai Alcazar. Ventilated seats have small fans inside the seat cushions, which circulate cool air through the perforated leather upholstery. This feature helps in keeping the seats cool and comfortable, especially in hot and humid weather conditions.

The document does not specify whether the ventilated seat option will be available for both the front and second-row seats or only for the front seats. However, it is possible that Mahindra may offer this feature as a paid upgrade to the existing XUV700 users, along with the auto-dimming IRVM.

Engine Specs and Others:

Apart from these new features, most of the other features and specifications of the XUV 700 will remain the same as the current model. XUV 700 is offered with a 2.0-litre turbo petrol engine and a 2.2-litre turbo diesel engine, both of which are available with a 6-speed manual or a 6-speed automatic transmission. The petrol engine produces 200 PS of power and 380 Nm of torque, while the diesel engine has two states of tune, 155 PS/360 Nm and 185 PS/420 Nm (450 Nm with automatic).

XUV 700 also comes with a dual HD super screen, which consists of a 10.25-inch digital instrument cluster and a 10.25-inch touchscreen infotainment system. The infotainment system supports wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, Amazon Alexa integration, navigation, 3D maps, and live traffic updates. The SUV also has a panoramic sunroof, a 12-speaker Sony 3D sound system, a smart filter technology, and an Adrenox Connect app.

Mahindra has not officially confirmed the launch date or the prices of the new variants and features of XUV 700. However, it is expected that the company will announce them soon, as it plans to resume the bookings and deliveries of the SUV in the coming months.
