5G services set to launch in India on October 1: Everything you need to know

5G

Commercial 5G services have begun in India. PM Narendra Modi will make the announcement during the IMC (India Mobile Congress).

This does not imply that consumers will be able to use 5G on October 1. It may just take some time. Reliance Jio has stated that its standalone 5G service, which will rely on new 5G infrastructure rather than existing 4G towers, is ready. However, users would most likely need to purchase a new 5G SIM card. Airtel is also anticipated to offer 5G services around the same time as Jio; however, the timing of Vodafone Idea’s 5G launch is still questionable.

In any event, the time corresponds to India’s 75th anniversary of independence, which took place in August. We anticipate intriguing 5G launch bargains and promotions. Overall, analysts in the country believe that the pricing for the new 5G services will be comparable to, if not more than, current 4G rates. At least initially, carriers’ first priority will be to onboard new users.

India Mobile Congress 2022

The IMC will take place from October 1 to 4, with the big 5G announcement on October 1. The PM and his statement will be part of a conversation titled “Towards 5G Advanced and 6G,” implying that much would be said about the country’s future of technology and communication.
