One of the top technological companies in the world, Acer, has received the Platinum medal, the highest honor given by the EcoVadis Sustainability Rating, for 2022. The EcoVadis rating is based on a company’s performance in four sustainability-related categories: environment, labor & human rights, ethics, and sustainable procurement. There is also a separate category for carbon, where Acer was awarded platinum status out of 90,000+ businesses from 200+ industries in 160+ countries.
Every firm now considers sustainability to be crucial, and Acer’s Earthion effort aims to eradicate all environmental footprints by the year 2050. Acer’s six missions, including product design, production, energy, logistics, packaging design, and recycling, are represented by Earth+Mission – Earthion.
Acer Wining the prestigious Platinum status from EcoVadis Sustainability Rating!
The goal of these missions is to find creative and all-around solutions to our generation’s environmental problems so that we can live in a better world in the future. For 2021, the company wants to ship more than 8.6 million phthalate-free products, use more than 14 million kWh of electricity and make 3.5 million kWh of green electricity, make moulded pulps from 100% recycled Kraft paper, recycle and remanufacture more than 50 metric tons of batteries between 2018 and 2020, and more. Sustainability has become very important for businesses and organizations, and serious work needs to be done.
EcoVadis uses a method called “sustainability assessment” to measure how well a business has built CSR and sustainability principles into its operations and management structure. It is based on seven guiding ideas, such as evidence-based excellence through continuous development, source diversification to get a lot of input from stakeholders for reliable scoring, and traceability and transparency of documentation.
