One of India’s three major telecom providers, Airtel, has finally announced a launch date for the fifth-generation cellular network technology after waiting for years for a 5G connection. In a new press release, Airtel has announced that its 5G services would be available throughout the nation in August 2022. The most recent 5G cooperation was announced after India’s 5G spectrum auctions ended on July 26.
Airtel has network partnerships with Ericsson, Nokia, and Samsung to deliver 5G services in the country. The announcement follows the recent spectrum auditions held by India’s DoT (Department of Telecom), in which Bharti Airtel bid for and was awarded 19867.8 MHz of spectrum in the 900 MHz, 1800 MHz, 2100 MHz, 3300 MHz, and 26 GHz frequencies.
