The upcoming high-end Apple Watch Series 8 model, according to Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman, won’t have the squared-off appearance that has been rumored for a while. Instead, it will undergo its first redesign in years and come with a new titanium casing.

The high-end Apple Watch model that will be released this year will be “a good bit bigger” than the Apple Watch models that are currently on the market, according to Gurman, who also suggested that “it might only appeal to a subset of customers” in the most recent edition of his “Power On” newsletter. It’s anticipated that the screen on the gadget will be 7% bigger than it is now.
Gurman confirms the rumors that the premium Apple Watch will sport the first fresh look since the 2018 release of the Apple Watch Series 4. Contrary to rumors of a design with squared-off corners, it doesn’t seem to be circular, and “it also won’t have those rumored flat sides.” Gurman, on the other hand, described the new layout as “an evolution of the current rectangular shape.”
Apple Watch blood pressure and glucose measurements are still delayed.
He continued by stating that the device will have a casing made of “a more durable formulation of titanium to make it extra rugged.” The device, according to Gurman, is anticipated to have a battery life that is longer than that of its predecessor and that, thanks to a new Low Power Mode, could last for several days on a single charge.
Blood-glucose monitoring is not anticipated to be available until “closer to the end of the decade,” while blood-pressure monitoring won’t be until 2025. The body-temperature sensor is still the only brand-new health feature anticipated for the Apple Watch Series 8.
The impending release of the Apple Watch, according to Gurman, “is shaping up to be one of the company’s more exciting product launches this year.”
