Disney+ Hotstar has officially announced that Dolby Atmos audio support is now available on compatible TVs, AVRs, soundbars, Android smartphones, and iOS devices. The streaming platform also says it is the first to use Dolby Atmos technology to give headphones a different experience.
The differentiated headphone experience technology detects the type of headphones connected to the device and automatically delivers the best audio experience possible based on the audio product’s capability. This makes sure that the user always has the best possible experience when they are using tablets, iPads, iPhones, or Android devices to view content. All Disney Plus Hotstar subscribers can now access the feature. It supports Only a few movies and web stories. The upcoming Hotstar Specials and Multiplex will also support Dolby Atmos audio output, according to Hotstar. Users can look for the Dolby Badge on the title listing page to see if the content supports a differentiated headphone experience with Dolby Atmos technology.
Here is a list of all Disney+ Hotstar shows that are compatible with both Dolby Vision and Dolby Atmos:
- Kaathuvaakula Rendu Kaadhal
- Home Shanti
- Rudra: The Edge of Darkness
- November Story
- The Great Indian Murder

Most modern iPhones released in 2020 or later should support both Dolby Vision and Dolby Atmos technology. In the same way, most of the top-of-the-line Android phones that came out recently, as well as some mid-range phones, should support both Dolby Atmos and Dolby Vision. When it comes to smart TVs, the majority of 4K UHD smart TVs with Android 11 TV OS, such as the recently released Acer TV S series, Vu GloLED TV, and Xiaomi TV, support Dolby Atmos and Dolby Vision technologies.
