
Disney announced a price increase for its Disney Plus subscription service later this year during its earnings webcast for the third quarter of Q3 FY22, which was held on Wednesday. Hulu and ESPN Plus, two other Disney-owned streaming services, will also see rate increases.
Pricing Information
- Even though the price of its services is rising (from $7.99 to $10.99 per month), approximately Rs. 635.01 to Rs. 873.45, Disney will offer an ad-supported tier for $7.99 (approx. Rs. 635.01 per month).
- The price of Hulu will increase from $6.99 to $7.99 (approx Rs. 555.49 to Rs. 634.95 for the ad-supported tier) and from $12.99 to $14.99 ( approx Rs. 1,032.22 to Rs. 1,191.14) for the ad-free version.
- ESPN Plus will cost $9.99 (approx. Rs. 793.92) instead of $6.99 (approx. Rs. 555.53)

The pricing increases for Disney Plus and Hulu will take effect on December 8, 2022—the same day the Disney Plus ad-supported tier will debut. The new pricing for ESPN Plus will take effect much sooner, on August 23. Disney also won’t display advertisements on children’s profiles.
