
People all throughout the country have been ordering groceries, gadgets, and other things sent to their houses since the onset of the Covid-19 outbreak, while many states have gone under lockdown. Flipkart is developing a QR-code-based Pay-on-Delivery service via UPI to aid the process.
Customers still prefer cash-on-delivery when purchasing things from e-commerce platforms, mostly because of the trust element. The transfer of actual currency, on the other hand, constitutes a health concern during a pandemic.
Flipkart’s New QR-Code Paying Method:
To get around this, products with the cash-on-delivery option will have a QR code attached to them, which customers may use to make a digital payment for their order using their preferred UPI app.
Ranjith Boyanapalli, Head of Fintech and Payments Group at Flipkart, stated of the feature’s launch:
"As the lines between e-commerce marketplace and fintech continue to converge, it becomes imperative to solve for customers’ evolving needs and attitudes. While the pandemic has urged several consumers to make a shift to online shopping, some trust deficit during checkout remains in pockets. With ‘pay-on-delivery’ technology, we want to ensure that customers have peace of mind with their payments and at the same time can shop within the safety of their homes." - Ranjith Boyanapalli, Head of Fintech and Payments Group at Flipkart, stated of the feature's launch:
