According to recent reports, WhatsApp is currently hard at work developing a new feature that, once implemented, will add an additional layer of security to the process of logging into a WhatsApp account. This feature will reportedly be included in an upcoming beta update for both Android and iOS.
The report by WABetaInfo indicates that the new feature is currently being developed; consequently, it has not yet been made available to the general public. Despite the fact that the estimated time of arrival is not yet entirely clear.
If a user is able to successfully log into their WhatsApp account from another device after the feature has been released to beta testers, they will be prompted to enter an additional verification code to complete the process.
According to the report, the company is currently working on this feature to protect users who may carelessly share their 6-digit code with others.
