Global Smartwatch Shipment Q1 2022

According to Counterpoint Research, shipments of smartwatches increased by 13% between January and March 2022. Despite the quarterly 24 percent decline – the holiday quarter is obviously difficult to duplicate – Apple, Samsung, and Xiaomi all saw a gain on an annual basis, according to the analysis of the wearable market throughout the world.

Global Smartwatch Shipment for Q1 2022:

Apple’s success aspect, according to Associate Director Sujeong Lim, is brand loyalty, which has grown its overall share as well as its YoY shipments by 14 percent.

Huawei’s shipments remained steady despite its third-place finish because to worse foreign placements. Users in large markets are apprehensive of Huawei wearables because to the lack of GMS in mobile devices. As a result, they are less inclined to convert. The Chinese corporation, on the other hand, improved its performance in the home market.

According to the survey, the majority of key regions saw increases in total exports, with only Europe remaining unchanged. The war in Ukraine, as well as the resulting logistical difficulties, had an impact on the market. In Q2, the impact is projected to be much more severe.

Garmin was the premium segment leader for wearables over $500, according to the survey. Fitbit, another US company, has seen a significant drop because it hasn’t released any new devices since being acquired by Google, and the changeover to Wear OS has yet to materialise.
