Since the release of the Pixel Watch, Google has been working hard to improve Wear OS. Google has been testing Gmail and Calendar for Wear OS via the Pixel Watch, according to a new report from 9to5Google. This seems to be fantastic news for Wear OS users.
For the time being, the Calendar app’s functions, such as events, are handled by the Agenda app. However, the app lacked many features, such as a basic month or week view, and could only display events from the previous three days. Email, on the other hand, is only accessible via the notifications feed.
These current features appear to be very basic, emphasising the importance of dedicated third-party apps. Google’s testing of Gmail and Calendar for Wear OS appears to be a good initiative in this context. It’s unclear whether the apps will include all features like event creation, email composition directly from the watch, and more.
It’ll be interesting to see how Google integrates Calendar and Gmail apps into Wear OS. More details should become available in the coming weeks.
