Google Meet added live sharing of YouTube, Spotify, and games back in November. Google has now begun to roll out an in-meeting reaction for Google Meet.
Share in-meeting reactions in Google Meet
These reactions will be displayed as a small badge on the sender’s video tile, floating up the left side of the screen. When there are several user interactions, you will notice a burst of emojis on the left side of your screen.

To access the reaction bar and share a reaction, select the smile icon on the control bar. Hovering over this bar allows you to select your preferred skin tone, which will then be applied to all emojis that have the ability to change colour.
Reactions will be set to “ON” by default. They can, however, be disabled in the admin console or by the meeting host.
Availability
According to the company, emojis can now be used to share in-meeting reactions in Google Meet on the Web, on Meet Hardware devices, and on iOS, with Android support coming soon.
This feature is available to all Google Workspace users, including those with personal Google accounts, legacy G Suite Basic customers, and business customers.
Google stated in a blog post announcing the feature,
In-meeting reactions provide a lightweight, non-disruptive way to engage and participate in meetings without interrupting the speaker. Further, with options to select skin tones that best represent your identity, you can participate authentically.
We hope these features make it easier for you, your colleagues, and stakeholders to stay better connected and engaged, whether they’re working from home, the office, or anywhere in between.
