The Google Phone app received a new dial pad UI in April of this year, with larger buttons and new animations. The updated design included pill-shaped buttons, similar to those seen in the redesigned Calculator app, as well as some cool new animations. Google is now releasing a new in-call UI for the Phone app, but it takes a unique approach.
Google Phone App: New Features
I received the update, so here’s a screenshot of the new in-call UI, which uses circular buttons instead of the pill-shaped buttons on the dial pad. While the design appears incoherent, it is likely to be more intuitive to use because it brings all of the buttons closer to the bottom of the display. In addition, the new UI includes a card behind the buttons that adds contrast for better visibility.

Availability
The new in-call UI appears to be available on the beta channel with Google Phone app version 90.0.475844574. However, it is currently unavailable to all the users. We can’t say when it will arrive on your device because Google hasn’t released any details yet. However, given that the new UI has already begun to appear for some users, a wider rollout should happen soon.
