Following reports, Google has begun hinting that the Pixel 7a, the company’s upcoming Pixel smartphone, will be released in India on May 11 after being unveiled on May 10 at Google I/O.
When will Google Pixel 7a go on sale?
The phone will once again be available on Flipkart. To refresh your memory, the Pixel 6a was unveiled at Google I/O in May but didn’t go on sale until July 2022 in India and other countries.
However, after the launch, the firm is anticipated to begin taking pre-orders or even selling the phone in India and other markets.
Alleged specs
According to reports, the Pixel 7a would have the same 6.1-inch FHD+ AMOLED screen but a 90Hz refresh rate. Additionally, a 64MP rear camera with a Sony IMX787 sensor is rumoured to be included, as well as a 12MP ultra-wide camera and the same 8MP front camera. In addition, a new Tensor G2 CPU with 8GB of RAM is rumoured to be included.
The phone should maintain its IP67 water resistance rating. The same 4,410 mAh battery and wireless charging support are also claimed to be included.
Expected cost
The Google Pixel 6a cost $449 (about Rs. 36,720) at launch and Rs. 43,999 (MRP) in India. The Pixel 7a is believed to cost $499 (about Rs. 40,800), which is $50 more than the Pixel 6a. As a result, the Pixel 7a may be more expensive in India.
