Honor signed agreements with major chip suppliers including Intel and Qualcomm after having spun off from Huawei.
In November, Huawei sold Honor to a group of 30 agents and distributors of the brand to help it reactivate U.S. sanctions-restricted supply elements.
With the introduction of the V40, the first phone model of Honor since the breakup, Chief Executive George Zhao said in a declaration that Honor now has its relations with a few technology companies which includes AMD, MediaTek, Micron Technology, Samsung, SK Hynix, and Sony are among the most common.
Zhao’s (CEO) speech on New HONOR Brand:
☑️ “The last five months have been an extremely difficult but meaningful time for Honor,” Zhao said. “We feel the weight of expectation from industry partners and consumers.”
☑️ Roughly 8,000 Honor workers have relocated from Huawei’s offices, including in the South city of Shenzhen, to a new headquarters. Zhao said that approximately 50% was involved in R&D.
☑️Under Huawei, Honor was concentrating on the budget end of the smartphone range, but would target at moving into the mid- and higher-level market and expanding abroad, said Zhao.
The company will also use the Huawei’s terminology for smart devices to market the ‘internet of things.’
