iOS 17 leak reveals rumored changes to the system apps, iPhone 15 details, and more.

In late 2022, Apple released iOS 16. It has since been working on minor 16.x releases to address outstanding bugs and finally roll out some of the promised features. The engineers in Cupertino have also been hard at work on this year’s major operating system update, iOS 17. Although it’s unusual for iOS version updates to be revealed ahead of schedule via leaks, it has happened on rare occasions. In fact, it looks like this year’s most anticipated release is one of them.

LeaksApplePro, always reliable, has reported on HowToiSolve that iOS 17 (codenamed Dawn) may be lacking in visual changes. Given the widespread speculation that Apple is shifting resources to develop its mixed-reality headset, this is to be expected. However, new details about the updates coming in iOS 17 have been leaked. The Music app, especially its interface, may be in need of significant improvements.

Exactly what new capabilities do you hope to see in iOS 17? If so, please share your thoughts in the space provided below.

In addition to Music, the leaker claims that the Home app will also undergo significant changes. Plus, the Find My, Mail, Reminders, Files, Fitness, and Wallet apps have all received minor updates. It’s possible that a brand new app will be introduced in iOS 17 to work with the rumored AR/VR headset. Despite the lack of specifics in the leak, it seems likely that this app will allow users to adjust the headset’s settings and personalize their experience.

In addition to these system-wide updates, the source code for iOS 17 may have leaked details about the iPhone 15 and its upcoming models. All iPhone 15 models, if the rumors are true, will have the Dynamic Island and USB Type-C ports. It seems that only two iPhone 15 models, the 15 Pro and the 15 Ultra, will support the faster USB 3.2 transfer speeds. It’s possible that the slower USB-C port will be adopted by the lower-end iPhone 15 models.

As a final point, it appears that Apple will be including a more sophisticated image processing app in the iPhone 15 Ultra as an exclusive this year. Since Apple wants to differentiate between the 15 and 15 Pro, the Pro might not get this feature.
