One of the most popular iOS games of all time, Jetpack Joyride, is receiving a sequel that will only be accessible through Apple Arcade.
Jetpack Joyride 2 appears to carry over a lot of what you might remember from the first game; it’s a side-scrolling shooter whereby each player’s primary focus is to avoid obstacles, survive as long as possible and collect as many coins as possible to get things from the in-game store. But, following an Apple press release, Jetpack Joyride 2 also promises to be a story-driven experience with new elements, which makes me want to play it right away.
Apple provides a trailer and further screenshots on the Jetpack Joyride 2 App Store page so that you may get a sense of what to expect. But if you’d like to hone your jetpacking abilities before the release of the sequel, try out the arcade-exclusive Jetpack Joyride Plus, which does not have commercials or in-app purchases, or even the original Jetpack Joyride. Along with Amazing Bomberman, Apple Arcade versions of My Talking Tom and Love You to Bits, Apple is also releasing a few new titles in August for the Apple Arcade.
