The Ather 450X Gen 3 electric scooter, a new generation from Indian electric vehicle manufacturer Ather Energy, has gone on sale. The larger battery, which the firm said in a statement at the time of the scooter’s launch may allow customers to ride in a greater performance mode while getting the same range as the eco mode in its previous generation, has mostly improved the electric scooter’s total riding range.
Ather 450X Gen 3 Features:
The battery capacity of the Ather 450X Gen 3 has been increased to 3.7 kWh, representing a 25% increase in size over the batteries contained in the previous edition. This results in a maximum riding range of 146 kilometers as approved by ARAI, but 105 kilometers according to Ather’s own data. The scooter now comes with five different ride modes: Warp, Ride, Sport, SmartEco, and Eco. It should come as no surprise that the Warp mode provides the most power output, which is 8.7 horsepower.
Another major feature of the scooter is a new Tyre Pressure Monitoring System that has been integrated into the smart display dashboard. The scooter also has an all-aluminum chassis, rear tires with a broader profile that provide 22 percent more traction than tires from previous versions, and an all-aluminum frame. The screen remains 7 inches in size, but it has been improved with additional RAM (now up to 2GB).
In a statement, Ather noted that the extra RAM will allow the system to run more smoothly in greater temperatures, which are typical of riding in India. Furthermore, it was noted that the new dashboard will “significantly improve the performance of memory-intensive programs and will unleash many future features like as voice commands, multi-language support, heavier visuals, and deeper diagnostics.”
The scooter also has a revised rearview mirror that is now integrated into the mainframe. According to the manufacturer, this will provide twice the visibility as previously. In addition, the stand has been completely redesigned.
