OnePlus announced its next-gen Nord phone called OnePlus Nord 2 5G. Nord series has been upper-midrange smartphone series that mainly targets midrange buyers. As expected Nord 2 comes with Mediatek’s top-end Dimensity 1200 SoC with some AI tweaks done in collaboration with OnePlus. Also, it packs a 90Hz AMOLED display, 50MP triple cameras, and a lot more which we’ll get into later in this blog.

What’s special with Dimensity 1200 AI SoC compared to already available Dimensity 1200 ?
▶ According to the company, additional AI-based capabilities will be added to the OnePlus Nord 2 5G to improve the user experience across several touchpoints. To emphasize the chipset’s additional AI capabilities, OnePlus and MediaTek have given it the name Dimensity 1200-AI, which the firm’s claim would set it apart from the ordinary Dimensity 1200.
▶ Additionally, the Oneplus Nord 2 5G will include AI-assisted photography for superior images, display upgrades for a superior user experience, faster response times for faster and smoother gaming, and much more.
▶ A better gaming experience is also provided by the MediaTek Dimensity 1200-AI. Users will be able to play games like Brawl Stars at a high refresh rate. Users may also play for longer periods of time because to the device’s low latency, enhanced heat management, and efficient battery usage.
▶ DOL-HDR technology is used by an AI-customized chipset to increase image quality, modify tuning while live recording, and improve the color range and color accuracy of videos. As a result, shadow detail, highlight retention, and dynamic range are improved.
