Xiaomi’s Redmi brand just unveiled the Redmi Note 12 Pro and Note 12 Pro+ smartphones at a Chinese event, as promised. They have a 6.67-inch FHD+ OLED display with Dolby Vision support, a refresh rate of 120Hz, a touch sampling rate of 240Hz, 1920Hz High Frequency PWM Dimming, and a 2.9mm ultra-narrow bottom bezel.
Features
- These are the first phones with a Dimensity 1080 SoC and up to 12GB of RAM, as well as 3000mm2 of VC liquid cooling heat dissipation.
- The Redmi Note 12 Pro has a 50MP Sony IMX766 sensor with OIS, while the Redmi Note 12 Pro+ is the first phone to have a 200MP 1/1.4-inch Samsung HMX sensor and 2.24m with 16-in-1 pixel binning. It also has OIS and a 7-megapixel lens. These feature an 8MP ultra-wide camera as well as a 2MP macro camera.
- These are powered by a 5000 mAh battery. The Note 12 Pro has a 67W fast charging capability that allows it to charge up to 50% in 15 minutes and 100% in 46 minutes. With the included 120W GaN charger, the Note 12 Pro+ has a 120W fast charging, Surging P1 chip that can charge up to 100% in 19 minutes.
The Redmi Note 12 Discovery Edition comes with a 4300mAh battery with 210W charging that can charge to 100% in 9 minutes and a 210W dual 10.5A GaN charger that supports QC3+/PD2.0/PD3.0 fast charging. Other specifications are identical to those of the Redmi Note 12 Pro+. In order to achieve such high-power fast charging, the smartphone, battery cell, charger, and even the fast charging cable have all been completely redesigned.
Three 100W fast charging chips are used in a wing layout to reduce heat generation while maximising high-power fast charging time. It has a new manufacturing process, a new structure, and materials that are better than before. It is powered by a 10C dual-cell battery.
All of the models have a glass back. The Note 12 Pro+ Yibo Limited Racing Edition is named after the Chinese actor Wang Yibo. This is green and says “RACING” under the back glass. It uses an advanced holographic levitation craft with 1 million micro-graphics and 1 million micro-lenses to make the 3D effect even better.
The Redmi Note 12 Pro also comes in a new purple colour that uses nano-level depth processing to blend a 900-thousand sand pattern and 1632 different sizes of halo under a 4-layer overlay. The result is a dreamy texture that blends levels of reality and illusion.

- The Redmi Note 12 Pro costs 1699 yuan (approx. US $234/Rs. 19,364 approx.) for 6GB + 128GB, 1799 yuan (approx. US $248/Rs. 20,500 approx.) for 8GB + 128GB, and 1999 yuan for 16GB + 128GB.
- The Redmi Note 12 Pro+ costs 2199 yuan (approx. US$2,050/Rs. 25,050) for 8GB + 256GB and 2399 yuan (approx. US$331/Rs. 27,330) for 12GB + 256GB.
- The Redmi Note 12 Discovery Edition costs 2399 yuan (approximately US$ 331 or Rs. 27,330) for the single 8GB + 256GB model. These phones will be available for purchase on October 31st. There are currently no details on the global rollout.
