Apple has just announced the new iPad Pro 11-inch and 12.9-inch models powered by the M2 chip. When compared to the previous iPad Pro model, the new chip promises 15% faster CPU performance and up to 35% faster GPU performance.

The new iPad Pro also includes a new Apple Pencil hover experience and is the first to support Wi-Fi 6E connectivity. The 11-inch model has a Liquid Retina display with LED backlighting, and the 12.9-inch model is the first to have a mini-LED Liquid Retina XDR display, like the older models. With iPadOS 16, the Apple Pencil (2nd generation) can now be detected up to 12 mm above the display, allowing users to see a preview of their mark before making it. According to Apple, this also allows users to sketch and illustrate with greater precision, making everything they do with the Apple Pencil easier.
The iPads also have a 5G model, Thunderbolt and USB 4 via USB-C ports, a 12MP Ultra Wide TrueDepth front camera with Center Stage, and run iPadOS 16 with the new Stage Manager, Desktop-class apps, and more. Apple says that the 12.9-inch iPad Pro with Liquid Retina XDR display can match colour needs in workflows like review and approve, colour grading, and compositing by using the Reference Mode.
