Google Pixel 6a to launch on July 28 for $449

A more affordable variant of the Pixel 6 that Google announced almost two months ago during its I/O conference will soon be released: the Pixel 6A. As anticipated, the Pixel 6A offers the Tensor chip and other standout features of the Pixel 6 at a lower cost of $449.

Google Pixel 6a Release Date, Specifications:

The new 6.1-inch Pixel, which will be released on July 28, will replace the Pixel 5A from the previous year. According to rumors, it will have a look similar to the Pixel 6 line from a year ago, with a camera bar in the middle of the back for the 12-megapixel ultrawide and primary cameras. On July 21, preorders go on sale.

All three of the major US wireless carriers will sell the phone, which supports 5G, but Verizon’s version will cost $500 because it supports millimeter-wave 5G. Software updates for Android will be provided by Google for about three years, and security updates for five years. The manufacturer claims that later this year, the 6A will be “among the first Android devices to receive the upcoming Android 13” update.

The Pixel 6A’s under-display fingerprint sensor will also be used to unlock the device. According to a video made by a Malaysian YouTuber who got the device early, the fingerprint reader might even be more responsive than the one on the Pixel 6 Pro. The 6A does not have a headphone jack, whereas the 5A did. The new phone will not support wireless charging but will have an IP67 rating for water and dust resistance, similar to the Pixel 5A.

Along with 6GB of RAM and 128GB of storage, the phone will be powered by Google’s unique Tensor chip. Google claims that the Pixel 6A’s camera features, such as Night Sight, Real Tone, and Magic Eraser, will also be available on the Pixel 6A. Magic Eraser, in particular, will get an upgrade that will let you “change the color of distracting objects in your photo.”
