Samsung is getting ready to launch its new foldable phones soon. Some sources say that the Z Fold5 and Z Flip5 will come out along with the Watch6 and Tab S9 in July.
The Samsung Z Flip5’s large and odd-shaped cover display
The Z Flip5 has a big cover display that looks like a folded phone. Some leaks and renders have shown it and we also have some photos of a plastic case for the Z Flip5 that confirm its size and shape.
Sources say that the cover display has a 3.4-inch diagonal and a resolution of 720 x 748 pixels. It can show more information and functions than the 1.9-inch display on the Z Flip4. For instance, it can show shortcuts, widgets and a big clock.
Other expected specs of the Z Flip5
The Z Flip5’s hinge design and chipset
We don’t have much information about the other aspects of the Z Flip5. However, it seems that it will have a new hinge design that will make it close more tightly with little or no gap. It will also have the newest Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 for Galaxy chip.
The Z Flip5’s storage and camera options
The storage options will likely be 128GB, 256GB or 512GB, like the current Z Flip4 models. But the 128GB variant will use a slower UFS 3.1 chip instead of UFS 4.0. The camera setup will probably have two 12MP sensors (main and ultrawide), but maybe with some improvements.

The Z Flip5’s battery and charging speed
The charging speed will probably stay at 25W, like its predecessor. We don’t know the battery capacity yet, but we hope it will be enough to power the large cover display and the powerful chipset.
