Whatsapp might no longer offer unlimited Drive backups!

Whatsapp has revealed that they are developing a new feature that would give users more control over their data. As a result, users will have options for managing all of their chats, images, and videos while also backing up their data. Google Drive is the simplest way to move WhatsApp data from one Android phone to another. However, Google is now attempting to reduce the number of free services available. Google just wiped all inactive users’ disc data, and they’re now keeping track of WhatsApp users’ backups.

Google may soon stop allowing WhatsApp users to make unlimited Drive backups

According to WABetaInfo, customers will be able to choose what they want to backup and what they don’t want in the forthcoming version. We can easily see options to manage photographs, audio, movies, documents, and other data while taking backup in WhatsApp beta 2.21.21.7. According to our sources, Google will allow users to make a backup of up to 2000MB (2GB). Users with WhatsApp data of more than 2GB may be able to purchase additional storage and backup their data.

WhatsApp Beta

The functionality has been detected in WhatsApp’s Android beta, but it is not yet available to beta testers.

Only Android users will experience troubles once this update is released. Because iOS users do not use Google Drive to back up their data, they rely solely on iCloud.

To remind you, Google removed the free unlimited storage for Google photographs earlier this year. Whatsapp has now brought the same thing to the table. So, now is the best moment to take a free backup of your Whatsapp account, since the unlimited backup service is still available.

Aside from that, Whatsapp is working on a new Group Community function. It’s a tool for users to better organize their groups.
