Despite the fact that the 12 Lite 5G was just revealed in Azerbaijan, Xiaomi has not stopped posting teasers for the device on its various social media channels around the world.
Even though the company is adamant that the 12 Lite “is coming,” it has not yet provided any confirmation regarding the device’s launch date, let alone the date at which it will be available for pre-order. As things stand, Xiaomi instead publishes ambiguous teasers, along with others regarding the Xiaomi 12S Ultra, a smartphone that will not be available anywhere else besides China.
According to the Twitter account @passionategeekz, Xiaomi is planning to introduce the 12 Lite 5G later this month. According to claims made by @passionategeekz, Xiaomi will reportedly demonstrate the device on July 13, alongside the wider release of the Smart Band 7, which is expected to take place around the world. As a point of reference, Xiaomi already sells the fitness tracker in Europe; therefore, it is possible that the company will extend its availability to similar markets such as North America.
The Xiaomi 12 Lite 5G may be released a day after the Nothing Phone (1) and has a Snapdragon 778G chipset, 120 Hz AMOLED display, and 108 MP primary camera.
The following screenshot illustrates that the world premiere of the Xiaomi 12 Lite will begin at 00:00 Pacific Standard Time (PST), which is a timezone that is not currently in use. Assuming that this information is accurate, the debut of the Xiaomi 12 Lite 5G will take place at 07:00 UTC.
As was mentioned earlier, the Xiaomi 12 Lite 5G will debut with a Snapdragon 778G processor, in addition to a 120 Hz AMOLED display and a 108 MP primary camera. This was covered in a previous article. As a result, the Xiaomi 12 Lite 5G will serve as a competitor to the Nothing Phone (1), which is scheduled to be released on July 12. It would appear that Xiaomi could introduce the 12 Lite 5G at a price that is €100 higher than its predecessor, given that Orange Spain is selling the older model for more than €500.
