LG Announces the Launch of Its Revolutionary ‘ThinQ UP’ Appliances Worldwide

LG

LG Electronics has announced that its LG ThinQ UP upgradeable home appliances, which include refrigerators, washers, dryers, oven ranges, and dishwashers, are now available worldwide. In South Korea, LG ThinQ UP appliances that can be updated first came out in January 2022.

LG appliances can adapt to each customer’s needs and changing lifestyles. This means that users can experiment with new features and functions without incurring additional costs. LG recently released the world’s first 27-inch and 45-inch 240Hz OLED gaming monitors.

The company says that LG ThinQ UP appliances may get new features over time, giving customers more value. They are made with the customer-centered philosophy of “evolving with you.”

LG will release easy-to-install software upgrades and hardware add-ons on a regular basis, providing customised options and extra conveniences based on ThinQ UP appliance customers’ usage patterns and suggestions.

  • Laundry Saver Mode, which can be used with dryers that have ThinQ UP, is one of the unique features that can be downloaded in 2023.
  • To help prevent wrinkles and odours, Laundry Saver keeps the drum spinning after the cycle is finished (and until the dryer door is opened).
  • Another available feature is improved nighttime brightness control for refrigerators with ThinQ UP, which softens the interior lighting of the fridges at night to avoid “blinding” consumers when they open the door.
  • All of the new software features can be turned on or off and can be accessed through the LG ThinQ app.

Availability

LG ThinQ UP will be available in the United States beginning in March 2023, with availability in other key markets or regions following the following year.

Visitors can also experience LG’s latest technologies, including the ThinQ UP appliances, at CES 2023, which takes place in Las Vegas from January 5–8, 2023.

Lyu Jae-cheol, president of LG Electronics Home Appliance & Air Solution Company, commented on the announcement:

A new paradigm in the home appliance industry, LG ThinQ UP is an innovative, new solution that delivers unprecedented customer value and differentiated user experiences. We will continue to offer sophisticated lifestyle solutions that provide personalized performance, convenient features and customizable upgradability.
