MediaTek Helio G36: Specs and Details
The Helio G36 is built on TSMC’s 12nm chip manufacturing process and features an octa-core CPU structure. This includes the Arm Cortex-A53 CPU, which can run at up to 2.2 GHz. The Helio G35 and G37, for example, can run at up to 2.3 GHz. As a result, there are no significant differences between the G36 and the G35/G37.
The IMG PowerVR GE8320 GPU is present, as is up to 8 GB of LPDDR4x RAM. The chipset, like the G35 SoC, supports eMMC 5.1 storage. The display resolution can be increased to HD+. It can also support up to a 90 Hz refresh rate, which allows for smooth scrolling and gaming.
The MediaTek Helio G36 can also support dual-camera photography with up to 50MP rear cameras, depth of field (bokeh) effects, and several AI features such as AI beautification. The Helio G36 comes with MediaTek HyperEngine 2.0 Lite, which includes Resource Management Engine 2.0 technology for a better gaming experience. This can help with dynamic CPU, GPU, and RAM management.
The chipset includes a Global 4G LTE Cat-7 modem (2 CC-CA) to support dual-SIM with VoLTE and ViLTE services. Wi-Fi 5, Bluetooth version 5.0, GPS, Beidou Galileo, Glonass, and QZSS are also available.
The MediaTek Helio G36 chipset is expected to power upcoming low-cost gaming phones in India. However, an exact timeline is unknown.
