Today, Netflix launched a new feature called “Profile Transfer.” This lets people who use your account to sign up for their own membership take your profile with them, so they can keep your customised recommendations, viewing history, My List, saved games, and other settings.

- You’ll be notified by email as soon as Profile Transfer becomes available on your account.
- To transfer a profile, go to the “Transfer Profile” option when you hover over your profile icon in the dropdown menu on the homepage — then simply follow the instructions.
- You can always turn off Profile Transfer in your account settings at any time.
This comes at an opportune time, as Netflix has just officially announced the ad-supported tier of its service, which will launch in November and cost $6.99 per month. At first, the plan will be offered in 12 countries. In the future, it will be made available in other areas.

This new, much-requested feature will be available to all members worldwide beginning today.
