The company’s first smartphone, the Phone (1), was released last year. The release of Phone (2) was confirmed by Nothing’s founder, Carl Pei, earlier this year. The company today announced that the phone will be released during the upcoming June–August British summer.
It is still anticipated to have a transparent back, but the teaser video shows a new blinking red light that might be a clue to a different rear design.
Carl Pei announced at MWC 2023 that a CPU from the Snapdragon 8 Series will power the phone without giving away the specific model number. It should, however, be the Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 SoC, as a Qualcomm executive accidentally revealed.
Carl stated that the Phone 2 will make its debut in the US during a recent interview. The software will be the team’s main focus, he continued, adding that the phone will be “more premium” than its predecessor. In order to provide the best experience for both the new and existing phones, the company now employs close to 100 individuals in its software team.
In the upcoming months, we should get more information regarding the Nothing Phone (2).
