Nvidia 3000 Series Vs Amd 6000 Series

The two big PC component companies are NVIDIA and AMD. You could go in search of a graphics card and you’ll see Radeon and GeForce. You don’t know, then, which one to get!

So let’s talk which is best Rtx 3070 or Amd’s Rx 6800. (Well this is a bit opinionated) Well when it comes to raw performance Amd’s Rx 6800 seems to beat Nvidia’s Rtx 3070 straight out of the charts in mostly every games and benchmarks.

Nvidia’s 3070 has 8gb Vram Memory While the Rx 6800 has 16gb Vram.

Let’s look at how they both perform

At 1080p resolution Rx6800 seems to be at least 10 to 13% faster than it’s competitor Rtx 3070 in average FPS.

And Stepping up to 1440p the Rx 6800 has an lead of 14% over the Rtx 3070.

At 4k Nvidia’s 3070 is able to catch up a little so the 6800 now has 10% lead.

Well although the 6800 is performing better in pretty much every game, it important to  know that it costs more than Nvidia Rtx 3070, Nvidia’s 3070 Founder Edition starts from 500$ and it’s Competitor  Rx 6800 starts from 579$.

But When we talk about the 80$ difference
the extra Vram of Rx6800 seems like an better choice which will be helpful to play games at higher settings in higher resolution.

But it’s the software and Ai department where nvidia takes the lead and with their
Like RTX Voice Background Noise Cancellation, AI camera background removal
these features are useful for those who are planning to Stream games on YouTube and other respectful platform.

And their 2nd gen Ray Tracing cores which makes the games  much more beautiful.
And DLSS 2.0 which is an image up scalling technology. Basically what it does is upscale the lower-resolution images to a higher-resolution for display on higher-resolution computer monitors.  Well it’s an topic in itself we will discuss about it later.
And keep this in mind that Switching on Ray tracing affects the performance monumentally.
This time Amd also introduced Ray Tracing in their cards but they are not that good as when compared to Nvidia’s since it’s their first gen Ray tracing cards..

It’s clear that 6800 beats the 3070 in every games but as i mentioned earlier it’s the software and AI Learning department where Nvidia takes the lead.
you may have seen how many people in past have complained or had and some still have problems with it’s drivers. Especailly in the case of 5700xt.
So if you’re an enthusiast where every frames matter to you and extra vram is useful for you then buy the Rx6800

And if you’re an streamer and want to play games in DLSS and ray tracing, 3070 is an very good option for you..

Now let’s talk about the big bad boys.
Amd’s 6800xt vs Nvidia’s 3080.

Well to be short about this, performance of both these cards are actually very similar.
where in some games nvidia takes lead and in some amd does unlike their smaller siblings these both are very much comparable.

At 1080p on average 6800xt seems 5% faster than 3080

And stepping up to 1440p the gap isn’t as large the 6800xt is around 4% faster than Rtx 3080 on average.

Now in 4k, Rtx 3080 seems to take the lead from Amd’s Rx 6800xt. but it’s very much negligible difference around 2%.

But when it comes to professional workloads like adobe and da vinci resolve blender etc. Nvidia seems to outmatch the Amd’s 6800Xt.

6800xt costs 649$ while Nvidia’s 3080 costs 700$.

So all things considered, amd’s RX6800 XT is looking like a compelling option. it’s 50$ cheaper than nvidia’s 3080 which is and as i mentioned in many games the differences aren’t that big. but if we may consider the fact that 6800 has more vram memory than nvidia’s 3080. it may age well and do better in higher resolutions years from now.
but that’s for the future.
So in both these card’s gaming performance differences are very similar so it’s really difficult to go too wrong with either of the card, as both offer great performance.
So get any one which you could get your hands on. if you can because the availability
for all 4 cards are really bad right now.

So in case of Rx6800 vs 3070
6800 is the clear winner.
And in 6800xt vs 3080.
Either of them is good.
