On February 7th, OnePlus will release its flagship wireless earbuds, the OnePlus Buds Pro 2, in India and global markets. According to OnePlus, the Buds Pro 2 sets a new standard for Spatial Audio with exciting new features for Android users.

The first True Wireless Earbuds (TWS) OnePlus Buds Pro 2 with Google Android’s Spatial Audio

The OnePlus Buds Pro 2 are among the first TWS earbuds to use Google’s signature spatial audio feature, which was created for Android 13. This results in a multi-dimensional experience contained within a pair of tiny earbuds.

As a result, regardless of movement, the sound always comes from a fixed position, with the same quality of 3D audio as in the cinema, according to the company.

OnePlus stated that it has optimised the spatial audio of the Buds Pro 2 in collaboration with Google to simulate the immersive, multi-dimensional experience found in theatres.

The OnePlus Buds Pro 2 take the spatial audio feature to the next level, with added stability, compatibility with app expansions, and the ability for other applications to use its technology.

Seamless connection Powered by Google’s Fast Pair and Audio Switching Features

In its pursuit of creating seamless connections, OnePlus claims that the Buds Pro 2 improves its efficiency with Android’s Fast Pair feature, which allows you to connect to nearby Android devices with one tap.

The Buds Pro 2 can connect to two Android devices simultaneously and switch audio between them based on your actions, removing the need to fiddle with Bluetooth settings.

Furthermore, OnePlus stated that it has developed a bespoke stereo up-mixing algorithm that creates multi-dimensional sound from mainstream audio and video apps, taking into account the compatibility of most audio sources on the market.

When the earbuds are released in India in a few weeks, we should know the price.

Erik Kay, VP of Engineering at Android, commented on the Buds 2 Pro and spatial audio for Android 13:

With Android 13, we added spatial audio functionality with the opportunity for partners to use it within their own devices. With OnePlus integrating this new framework alongside support for Fast Pair and audio switching, we’re looking forward to adding their Buds 2 Pro Series to the Android ecosystem of connected devices that all work better together.
