In accordance with the new naming convention, Qualcomm has so far released three chipsets using the 4nm manufacturing process: the Snapdragon 8 Gen 1, Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1, and Snapdragon 7 Gen 1. We now know the business will release a Snapdragon 6 series chip with the same naming pattern, known as Snapdragon 6 Gen 1, thanks to trustworthy leaker Evan Blass.
Qualcomm Snapdragon 6 Gen 1 5G
The full specifications sheet for the Snapdragon 6 Gen 1 SoC, which was leaked by Blass, reveals that it is a 4nm chip with the product number SM6450. It is compatible with Qualcomm’s Quick Charge 4+ technology and 5G networks.
The Kryo CPU in the Snapdragon 6 Gen 1 SoC runs at up to 2.2GHz, however the number of cores is unknown. The processor enables you to shoot images with a 108MP camera and supports screens with up to FullHD+ quality and 120Hz screen refresh rate.
The Snapdragon 6 Gen 1-powered smartphones can also record slow-motion footage at 240 FPS and 4K HDR videos at 30 FPS. The text in Blass’s graphic that claims 240 frames per second slow-motion video recording is possible in 270p may be an error, and the true resolution might be 720p. The specifications sheet is provided below.
The Snapdragon 6 Gen 1 has not yet received official word from Qualcomm, but we may learn more about it during this year’s Snapdragon Summit, which will be held in Hawaii from November 15 to 17. Although Qualcomm might possibly launch it prior of the 8 Gen 2.
