Redmi India, a sub-brand of Xiaomi, India’s leading smartphone manufacturer, today announced a collaboration with Reliance Jio to conduct live 5G network trials for the upcoming Redmi K50i. During the trial, the phone was put through several extreme scenarios to test the smartphone’s capability and performance, ensuring a seamless backend experience for end users. The live test results on Redmi’s latest flagship device were extremely positive.
The promising results of the test will contribute to making 5G a reality for customers and creating a full 5G experience. The Redmi K50i will be the first Redmi device to include 12 5G bands – n1, n3, n5, n7, n8, n20, n28a, n38, n40, n41, n77, n78 – with the goal of increasing access to 5G services and creating unique experiences.
The trial also tested the interoperability of Redmi India’s latest technology with Reliance Jio’s 5G network, yielding positive results.

The brand tested 5G in an out-of-lab setting and achieved impressive results with high upload and download speeds. When tested for 4K streaming and cloud gaming scenarios requiring high-speed and low latency, the Redmi K50i delivered on its promise as a performance-driven phone. It provided lag-free online gaming and buffer-free streaming of 8K videos and performed admirably when tested under a variety of extreme conditions.
In this segment, the Redmi K50i is focused on providing users with fast speeds, increased efficiency, a new level of performance, and scalability to 5G. The smartphone is fully equipped to improve the smartphone experience of users and will be available in India on July 20th, 2022.
