In April 2022, redBus released a separate lite app for Android called “redRail.” The app was designed to improve the online travel booking experiences of millions of train passengers.
The company has now expanded the app’s availability to iOS, allowing iPhone users to book train tickets whenever and wherever they want. The app has been tested to function smoothly and book IRCTC train tickets even in areas with limited internet speed, on devices with limited memory configuration, and on phones running outdated versions of Android, for example.
The IRCTC-approved app provides confirmed train bookings as well as other user conveniences like PNR status updates, a train schedule feature, and more. In addition to UPI payments, the app accepts credit cards, debit cards, net banking, and other forms of payment.
redRail App: New Features
The new “Confirmation Probability” feature in the redRail app lets users know their chances of getting a waitlisted ticket before booking. A waitlisted ticket with a confirmation probability of more than 75% will almost certainly be confirmed.
The confirmation probability feature of redRail is said to be derived from sophisticated data science algorithms that take into account historical patterns and train or route-specific characteristics.
redRail by redBus has expanded its “Confirmation Probability” feature to include redRail Confirm. Advanced algorithms identify confirmed seats available in the same train from other stations. Users can book these seats instantly and board or alight at their preferred stations via route extensions. This allows them to reserve seats on a train that is on the waitlist.
