Samsung has released Make STRANGER Nights Epic, a short film that uses the Galaxy S22 Ultra’s advanced Nightography camera features to pay homage to the popular Netflix series Stranger Things. The video is part of Samsung’s ongoing partnership with Netflix and is now available to watch on Samsung’s social channels, just as season four of Stranger Things premiered on Netflix.
The Stranger Things-inspired theme serves as an appropriate backdrop in the short film to highlight the Galaxy S22 Ultra’s powerful Nightography capabilities. Nighttime opens up a portal to an extraordinary world in Stranger Things Season 4 – and the S22 Ultra is used to recreate that distinct style and tell a cinematic story demonstrating how Galaxy technology has the power to capture what would otherwise go unseen in the dark.
Make STRANGER Nights Epic: A Short Film from Galaxy S22 Ultra
A young girl rides her bike to a Stranger Things 4 watch party at her friend’s house while carrying her Samsung Galaxy S22 Ultra in her back pocket in Make STRANGER Nights Epic. Her video unintentionally starts recording while she is traveling, capturing images of what is hiding in The Upside Down behind her. The Samsung Galaxy S22 Ultra was used to capture all of the vertical phone footage scenes.
The short film also makes the most of the Galaxy S22 Ultra’s potent Nightography camera features, which include a 108MP main camera and a sizable 2.4-m pixel sensor powered by cutting-edge artificial intelligence (AI). These features enable the camera to capture more light and data for brighter, clearer video footage, both during the day and at night.
A long-standing partnership exists between Samsung and Netflix, and the two have worked together on custom campaigns that have featured several of the most well-known shows on the streaming service. To help launch the second season of Emily in Paris, they introduced an integrated campaign in January. As part of it, fans could use the Samsung Galaxy Z Flip 5G to “flip the script” and take the lead in their own animated poster.
For the Galaxy S22 series’ Unpacked debut in February, Samsung and Netflix also collaborated to produce the Bridgerton short film. The three-minute skit features innovators vying for Queen Charlotte of Bridgerton’s attention. The inventor, Lord Tristar, is successful when he displays his futuristic invention, two enormous Neoclassical paintings of the Galaxy S22 and S22+, that will be finished in 209 years.
