Samsung is now rolling out 360 Audio Recording for Galaxy Buds2 Pro, Camera Controller for Galaxy Watch4 and Watch5

Samsung

Samsung Electronics has released new software updates for its Galaxy Buds2 Pro and Galaxy Watch series, which improve content capture capabilities for Galaxy users.

Samsung adds 360 Audio Recording for Galaxy Buds2 Pro, Camera Controller for Galaxy Watch4 and Watch5

These updates, which include 360 Audio Recording and an improved Camera Controller, strengthen Galaxy smartphones’ already powerful cameras.

360 Audio Recording

The new 360 Audio Recording feature enables users to capture high-quality and realistic audio for videos without the need for professional equipment by pairing the Galaxy Buds2 Pro with a Galaxy smartphone.

The feature captures 360-degree sound with a microphone in each earbud, immersing the viewer in the middle of a crowded festival or a forest stream. By plugging in connected headphones and playing back the video on a device or social media channel, the lifelike and immersive sound can be experienced, simulating an in-person experience.

  • 360 Audio Recording is the first Galaxy feature to use LE Audio, an advanced new Bluetooth audio standard that provides better audio quality, lower latency, and longer battery life.
  • TLE Audio also supports binaural recording on the Galaxy Buds2 Pro by using both the left and right microphones at the same time. Users can immerse themselves in the moment with high-quality stereo audio and video when paired with a Galaxy Z Flip4 or Z Fold4.

Camera Controller

The photography and videography features on the Galaxy smartphones are intended to give users creative control in any situation. The Camera Controller app on the Galaxy Watch, for example, allows users to control their phone’s camera from their wrist.

  • When paired with a Galaxy smartphone and watch, a new update for the Galaxy Watch5 and Watch4 series will soon add zoom capabilities to the Camera Controller, further expanding the camera experience.
  • Users can now control their phone’s camera zoom remotely by pinching the watch face or rotating the rotating bezel, making it easier to take group selfies or group shots from a distance without having to return to the camera to adjust the frame.

Availability

Starting today, the 360 Audio Recording feature will be gradually released on the Galaxy Buds2 Pro, Galaxy Z Flip4, and Z Fold4 via software updates.

On the other hand, the updated Camera Controller feature will be available on the Galaxy Watch5, Watch5 Pro, Watch4, and Watch4 Classic starting in February.

Samsung stated in a blog post announcing the features,

Paired with a Galaxy smartphone, the latest wearable software updates bring users new ways to capture the world as they hear and see it. These software updates reflect Samsung’s continuous commitment to providing the most up-to-date experiences to existing devices.
