Twitter now lets you to add mixed media: Videos, images, and GIFs in one Tweet

Twitter

Twitter has launched “mixed media,” which allows users to combine videos, images, and GIFs in a single tweet. This new feature allows users to combine all three types of visual content in a single tweet, which is referred to as “mixed media.”

Twitter Mixed Media: Videos, Images, and GIFs in One Tweet

  • Users can include up to four videos, images, or GIFs in a single Tweet.
  • Users can select the content they want to share by tapping the “media” or “GIF” icons while writing a tweet.
  • Adding descriptive text to the images will make them more accessible.

According to a Twitter blog post, combining different types of visual content in a single tweet allows creators to express themselves beyond 280 characters and gives them more ways to tell their story. Remember, Instagram has a similar feature that allows users to post both photos and videos in the same post, but viewers must swipe across to see the other media types. Mixed-media tweets, on the other hand, allow users to see all of the media types at once. Twitter recently added a way for Blue users to edit tweets and a way to watch “immersive” videos like on TikTok.

Availability

The update is now available on iOS and Android, but tweets with different types of content can be read on all platforms.

Twitter stated when announcing the new feature:

Sometimes you need more than one kind of media to express yourself the way you want. Don’t worry, we’ve got you. We’re always looking for new and exciting ways to help creators share more and be seen. Mixing different types of visual content together in a single Tweet allows creators to express themselves beyond 280 characters and gives them more ways to tell their story.
