Microsoft is bringing some major upgrades to microsoft edge collections including new ways to organize your ideas and find inspiration – all with the goal of assisting you in making the most of your online time so you can focus on what matters most to you.

Upgrades to Microsoft Edge Collections are Coming!

Remember, if you have a Windows PC, you already have Microsoft Edge installed, so launch it and explore it to see why Microsoft Edge is the browser that puts you first and allows you to do more of what you love.

As evidenced by the feedback, there are numerous reasons to enjoy collections in Microsoft Edge. It’s a useful tool that allows you to collect and organize content from the web while keeping all of your ideas neatly organized into folders. We’re always looking for ways to improve great things, so we’d like to share some new Collections enhancements that will help you find and do more of what you enjoy. What’s new in Collections is as follows:

Collect everything you like from the internet.

We want to make it easier for you to save and organize more than just links to websites, since the web is becoming more and more visual. You can now save images and videos to your Collections as you browse the web. Just hover over or right-click the item on a page and click the “Add” button to save it to a Collection. Soon, you will also be able to share your collections with other people so that you can work together and share ideas, whether you are planning your next trip or remodeling your home office.

Find ideas at a quick glance

With Collections, we want to help you gather information from all over the web, organize it, and share it with others. We also know that a big part of what we do on the web is find new things and get ideas. So, I’m happy to tell you that we’re starting to roll out the inspiration feed, which will soon be in your Collections flow. Let’s say you just finished adding must-see places to your Collections for your trip to Paris this summer. When you’re in your Collections window, you can see your folders and a feed of content related to your research. This can help you get ideas and find new places. Isn’t that cool?

We have more for you this month to help you find new things to read. You can now also use Microsoft Bing’s Visual Search when you move your mouse over an image. Visual Search uses advanced computer vision technology to search using images instead of text.

With the on-hover update, you can easily look for similar items by hovering over an image you find online and then clicking on the Visual Search icon. For example, if you are reading a blog about home improvement and see a light fixture you like, you can move your mouse over Visual Search to find one online that is just like it. This is just one more way Microsoft Edge can help you stay organized and find ideas for doing more of what you love.

Follow, and you’ll get updates about the things you like.

I’ve talked so far about how you can collect, organize, share, and get ideas, but that’s not all. On top of all the cool features we’ve told you about, you’ll be able to follow your favorite content creators on sites like YouTube, Bilibili, and TikTok starting this month. At first, this will only work for a few websites. In the future, more websites will be added. First, make sure you’re signed in with your Microsoft account. Then, go to the address bar and click “follow.” To see the sites you’ve followed, go to your Collections window on the right side of your browser and click on the Follow tab to see the latest updates.

The desktop version of Microsoft Edge will have all of these improvements to Collections. If you’ve never used Collections before, you can now use and enjoy the updated version. If you already have Collections, these changes will be rolled out to you over the next few months. Check your Collections pane for a prompt to update. Once you click “Update,” you’ll be able to use all of these great new features right away.

As always, thank you for reading. Please keep giving us feedback as we work to make web experiences and tools that save you time and help you get things done online so you can spend more time doing what you love.

From the browser window, you can share your feedback by going to… menu > Help and feedback > Send feedback.
