WhatsApp almost there to launch multi-device support

WhatsApp has been working on offering multi-device support on its platform for quite sometime now. Over the course of this year, reports have given descriptions of the progress that the company has made in improving the various aspects of this forthcoming feature. Now, a new report gives us more detail on this feature.

As reported by WABetaInfo, a blog that monitors the growth of WhatsApp, the Facebook-owned messaging app is currently testing how calls will be configured when this function is turned on. The tipster says that since last week WhatsApp has been checking how calls can operate between different devices on the same account. This suggests that the business is serious about this feature and that we can see this feature rolled out in the future.

However, the tipster said that there is still no news on the release date of the feature.

In the meantime, the reports in the past have detailed aspects of this feature. For example, one tipster report notes that users will be able to use the same WhatsApp accounts on four different devices at the same time and that the main device will not be needed to have an active internet connection, as is the case when using WhatsApp Site.

Reports in the past have also reported that multi-device support will be included in the app under the Linked Devices section. Users will be able to add a new device by clicking on ‘Connect a New Device option.’ Users will also see a button toggle to allow or disable this feature along with a list of all connected devices.
