WhatsApp has recently introduced new features aimed at improving the status update experience. The announcement comes after the platform’s beta release of voice status updates for Android.
These new features aim to make connecting with friends and family easier and more creative for users. Furthermore, your WhatsApp status, like your personal chats and calls, is secure with end-to-end encryption, allowing you to share privately and confidently.
New Ways to Enjoy WhatsApp Status
Private Audience Selector: You have the ability to control who sees your status updates by adjusting your privacy settings per status. The most recent privacy setting you set will be remembered as the default for your next update.
Voice Status: Record and share voice messages of up to 30 seconds on your WhatsApp status to express yourself. This feature is excellent for sending more personal updates, particularly if you prefer speaking to typing.
Status Reactions: Adding status reactions makes it easier to respond to updates from friends and contacts. According to user feedback, this was the most requested feature after the release of Reactions last year. You can now respond by swiping and tapping one of eight emoji reactions. You can still respond via text, voice message, sticker, and other means.
Status Profile Rings for New Updates: With the new status profile ring, you can stay up to date on updates from loved ones. When your contact posts a status update, it will appear around their profile picture, making it visible in chat lists, group participant lists, and contact information.
Link Previews on Status: You will now see a visual preview of the content when you post a link in your status, just like when you send a message. This improves the appearance of your status updates and gives your contacts a better understanding of what the link is before they click it.
Availability
These updates are being rolled out to users globally and will be available to everyone in the coming weeks.
Furthermore, WhatsApp is developing an in-app banner for document sharing, a calling shortcut, and the ability to pin messages for quick access.
