WhatsApp is working on adding a new photo quality feature, rolling out Block shortcuts, and searching for messages by date in beta

Meta’s WhatsApp recently released a beta version of Voice status updates for Android. According to the WABeta Info site, the company is now focusing on developing new features, such as photo quality, for a future update of the app.

WhatsApp photo quality

The new feature will enable users to send photos in their original resolution. This feature will be included in a future app update. Currently, users can choose between “automatic,” “best quality,” and “data saver” photo quality options, but this new feature will give users more control over the quality of photos sent.

According to the WhatsApp beta for Android 2.23.2.11, the company is working on incorporating a new setting icon within the drawing tool header that will allow users to customise the quality of any photo. This feature is especially useful when sending photos in their original quality.

Block shortcuts are now available in the Android beta

By introducing two new entry points, WhatsApp is providing an alternative way to block contacts. One of these entry points is accessible from the chat list by opening the chat options, while the other is accessible from notifications and appears in specific situations when receiving a message from unknown contacts.

These new entry points make it easier for users to block contacts without opening their chat information, which is especially useful for those who receive a lot of messages from people they don’t know or don’t want to talk to.

Search for messages by date is now available in the iOS beta

The most recent WhatsApp 23.1.75 update allows users to hide their online status and search for specific messages by jumping to a specific point in the conversation. To use the new option, users must enable the search mode in a conversation if it is available for their account.

This feature gives users more control over their chat history and previous messages. Users can also now drag and drop images, videos, and documents from other apps into WhatsApp chats.

Block shortcuts on Android and Search for messages by date on iOS are now available to beta users, while the photo quality feature is still in the early stages of development.
