Following claims that WhatsApp was working on a feature to prevent messages from disappearing in a thread on iOS and Android, the company has announced that the feature is now available with the newest WhatsApp version. WhatsApp began testing this earlier this month on beta versions of Android and iOS.
Users may now retain disappearing messages in a thread on WhatsApp
This allows anyone in a disappearing message thread to keep a message by long-pressing on it. By clicking the bookmark button, you can keep or delete the messages. The noted messages are listed in the “kept messages” section.
If the message is saved, the sender will be alerted and will have the final say over who can keep it. No one else in the chat can keep the message if the sender decides to unsubscribe. WhatsApp allows you to delete a message within 30 days of when it was saved.
WhatsApp is still developing new features. The firm just began putting out new security features.
