WhatsApp Users! Soon, groups can have 512 members.

One of the new features that will be added to WhatsApp’s messaging service is the capability to create groups with up to 512 members, as was announced in New Delhi. We are now able to confirm that users who are currently operating the stable version of WhatsApp on their Android or iOS device have the option to switch.

The information was provided by WAbetainfo, which also reported on the changes, one of which enables a group administrator to oversee anywhere from 256 to 512 users within the same organization. Previously, the maximum number of members that could be included in a WhatsApp Group was 256, but that limit has since been doubled.

The update is available to all users of WhatsApp; however, some users may have to wait a few days before the new Group function appears in their respective WhatsApp apps. The same steps as before need to be taken in order to add 512 members to a group.

Here’s how to make your WhatsApp group bigger by 512 members.

  • Get WhatsApp up and running.
  • To access the menu, go to the top right of the screen and click the three dots that are next to the search button.
  • Choose the option that allows you to make a new group.
  • Using your phone’s contact list, you can quickly create a new group with as many as 512 members.
  • You, as the admin, have the ability to make group chat messages disappear after they have been read.
  • You’ve just created a new WhatsApp Group and invited 512 people to join it. Congratulations!

When it comes to certain of its features, WhatsApp has fallen behind other apps in its category. You are already able to create groups on Telegram that can have up to 2 lakh members each. The messaging platform also supports large-file transfers, an area in which WhatsApp was an industry pioneer with the introduction of its 2GB file transfer capability.

Additionally, the number of people who can participate in a group video call simultaneously has been increased to a maximum of 32, which is double the previous limit.
