Xiaomi 13 Ultra: First Look, Design, and Display Details

The much-anticipated Xiaomi 13 Ultra will be released tomorrow, and now, just one day before the launch, we have our first official look at the device, courtesy of Xiaomi themselves. Images posted to the official Xiaomi Weibo account confirm the renders we’d seen of the 13 Ultra’s thick bump protruding around the camera island.

The Xiaomi 13 Ultra will have a metal alloy body and a new generation of synthetic leather. The new leather substitute used for the back is not only antibacterial but also resistant to dirt and has an anti-yellowing treatment.

It is speculated that the combined thickness of the leather protrusion and the camera bump will be 15.6mm. When held in landscape orientation, the top and bottom of the phone will gradually narrow to create a more snug grip, just as they do on conventional cameras.

The larger camera island is visible as well, housing the ultrawide, standard, and long telephoto lenses as well as the 1-inch IMX989 main unit and three Sony 50MP IMX858 sensors. A green version of the 13 Ultra can be seen in a teaser video that Xiaomi also released.

In related news, Xiaomi detailed the LTPO OLED panel used in the 13 Ultra, which was co-developed by Xiaomi and China Star. The C7 display has been verified to have a resolution of 1440 x 3200 pixels and a peak brightness of 2,600 nits, making it suitable for viewing HDR content.
