The use of referrals can significantly increase a service’s user base. This typically entails providing the person who made the recommendation with a further discount on top of the regular rate while also rewarding the recommender with some benefits. In February 2021, YouTube TV unveiled a referral program that gave discounts to both new subscribers and referral sources. Following suit, YouTube has also introduced a referral program that allows current subscribers to receive an extra month of service for each new user they refer.
YouTube Premium Referral Program launched
A referral link that a new user must use to sign up for YouTube Premium must be shared by current subscribers to the service. They will receive 3 months of highly discounted access to YouTube Premium as a result of the referral. YouTube Premium costs $11.99 per month in the US. According to 9to5Google, referred users only need to pay $0.99 for the first three months. With a referral link, you can sign up for YouTube Premium in India for just Rs 10 for three months, which is a significant discount from the regular Rs 129/month cost. Only new subscribers—not current or former Premium subscribers—will be eligible for the discounted pricing.
You will receive a free month of YouTube Premium for up to 12 months for each person who signs up and purchases the service using your referral link. You have plenty of time to sign up as many users as you can for the service considering that the referral program runs through May 31, 2023.
