Since its split from ex-parent HUAWEI, HONOR has been attempting to promote itself as a premium brand. The company has been releasing smartphones on a regular basis in worldwide markets, and in May, HONOR revamped its Magic flagship line with the global release of the HONOR Magic4 Pro smartphone.
The HONOR Magic4 features a 6.81-inch Quad Curved 120Hz LTPO display panel, a Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 SoC, a triple rear camera setup with dual 50MP main and ultrawide shooters, and a 64MP telephoto lens with 100x zoom, all powered by HONOR’s proprietary Ultra Fusion Photography engine, Dual 100W HONOR SuperCharge support, and other features.
These specs appear to be flagship-level, and HONOR will compete directly with Android flagships such as the Vivo X80 Pro, Xiaomi 12 Pro, Samsung S22 Ultra, and others. In our entire review, we’ll see how it compares. For the time being, let’s unbox the device and offer our early thoughts. HONOR Magic4 Pro Initial Impressions:
The large camera on the back of the Magic 4 Pro gives it a similar appearance to that of the Magic 3. The Honor Magic 4 Pro is a true flagship smartphone. Built to compete at the highest levels, its design and materials reflect this goal, and it bears more than a passing resemblance to the Huawei Mate 40 Pro. Even though these are different firms, there is still some similarity in the overall layout of the phones.

With its curved glass front and back and IP68 rating, this huge phone is comfortable to hold in one hand. Honor is clearly taking a page straight out of the flagship phone playbook with this one. It’s aesthetically pleasing as well, especially when the sun catches that cyan towards the back. It’s a bit slippery for such a large device, but thankfully there’s a case included to make it more gripping and offer some protection.

On one side, the frame houses the power switch and volume rocker, while on the top and bottom, there are elegant cut-outs for the speaker grilles. As a whole, it’s quite satisfying.
However, the overt display of cameras on the back of the phone cannot be ignored. The camera isn’t hidden away in a small compartment; instead, it occupies a massive circular unit on the back of the phone. This is intentional on Honor’s part, as the company markets the device as having the best camera of any smartphone.

Furthermore, the frame houses stereo speakers that, when cranked up to full volume, produce sound of passable quality, making them useful for both spontaneously watching videos and participating in video conferences.
I fell in love with the display after only a few days of use, and the phone appears to be flagship grade in every way. However, you will have to wait for the final review to learn more about this device. We’ll test the device in every possible way and will publish review soon. See you soon!
